Summer Spin and Knit Along Workshops – $15.00 fee per workshop
Sunday, July 12th – 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Join us for the first in our series of three workshops as we begin either of the three knit along selections: Looking Glass Sweater,Transitions Yoke Cardigan, or the Garter Yoke Cardi. Bring your yarn ideas, and a sweater that fits you as we plan our yarn choices,whether to use all hand spun or a combination of hand spun and commercially spun yarns, and guidance in choosing a size, and modifications that will provide the best fit.
Sunday, July 26th – 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
Our second workshop will focus on knitting construction questions, and incorporating fit modifications into your sweater project. Bring your questions, pattern, notes and work in progress.
Sunday, August 2nd – 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
Our final workshop will provide guidance in finishing, and problem solving necessary for your sweater in progress. Bring your questions, pattern, notes and work in progress.
Beginning Wheel Spinning 2- $30
Sunday, July 26th – 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Learn the basics of spinning a balanced 2-ply yarn, how to chain ply from a single bobbin, and Andean plying from your wrist. Students will have an opportunity to try several models of spinning wheels and discuss features to look for when selecting a wheel.
Supplies: If you have a wheel, bring hand spun singles on two (2) bobbins, and an extra bobbin for plying. If you don’t have a wheel we will provide singles for your use. Students should also bring a few ounces of carded roving, which may be purchased at Uniquities
